Gig has a private high school and private college education but claims he was not a great student. When discussing his education he describes himself as “just a jock”. He also says that he only has a Bachelors degree while his brother and sister both have Master’s. Gig applied to Harvard University, his sister was attending and Harvard recruited Gig to play sports, but he was not accepted.
In his Freshman year Gig attended Bucknell College, now known as Bucknell University, which is one of the best academic institutions in the country with one of the lowest college admissions acceptance rates. He then transferred to American University in Washington, D.C. which was one of the best school’s in the country in the sport he participated in. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, majoring in Marketing.

While at American University Gig worked as an intern for the National Football Leagues’ Players Association (NFL-PA) https://www.nflpa.com/. He was there in 1983 which was known as the year of the quarterbacks with John Elway #1, Todd Blackledge #7, Jim Kelly #14, Tony Eason #15, Ken O’Brien #24 and Dan Marino #27 out of 28 first round picks. 1983 was ranked #1 as the top quarterback draft class of the Super Bowl era http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/a-look-at-the-top-25-qb-draft-classes-of-the-super-bowl-era/ss-AA9YNrm#image=26
1983 was also labeled the most celebrated quarterback class in NFL history with notables, future Pro Football Hall of Fame members John Elway, Dan Marino and Jim Kelly, and quarterbacks Ken O’Brien, Tony Eason and Gary Kubiak.
An indication as to how long ago it was, 1983 was the first year the NFL-PA implemented computers. As an intern Gig was privy to every players contract, entering each one into the computer database.

Gig graduated from Moorestown Friends School which was founded in 1785. The school is in Moorestown, New Jersey. A town that was rated by Money Magazine as “America’s Best Place to Live” in July 2005. Gig was the president of the varsity club his junior and senior year, vice president of the school’s student body, King of the May Day festival as a junior which was held once every 4 years, junior wise man representative, member of the ski club and yearbook club, played varsity in 3 different sports for all 4 years and speaker at his high school graduation ceremony.
Gig’s childhood best friend from 5th through 12th grade was French nobility and held the official title of Count. Gig thinks his best friend’s ancestors, and maybe as recent as his father, and possibly still do, own a castle in France.
In 2015 Gig’s high school’s website stated that they:
1- offer 17 AP courses. The AP curriculum, administered by The College Board, consists of standardized high school courses that are roughly equivalent to undergraduate college courses. After completing an AP class, students typically take the AP exam in that subject which can earn them credits and accelerated placement in college.

2- have the highest SAT scores in South Jersey.
The SAT is a standardized test widely used for college admissions in the United States. It was first introduced in 1926, and its name and scoring have changed several times, being originally called the Scholastic Aptitude Test, then the Scholastic Assessment Test, then the SAT Reasoning Test, and now simply the SAT.
Moorestown Friends School is a private, coeducational Quaker day school. During the 1991-92 school year, Moorestown Friends School was awarded the Blue Ribbon School Award of Excellence by the United States Department of Education, the highest award an American school can receive.
It is part of the Quaker Friends school system that many U.S. Presidents send their children in Washington, D.C..
Sidwell Friends School, founded in 1883, is a highly selective Quaker school located in Bethesda, Maryland and Washington, D.C.. Described as “the Harvard of Washington’s private schools”, the school has educated children of notable politicians, including those of several Presidents. Both of United States President Barack Obama‘s daughters, Sasha and Malia, and Vice President Joe Biden‘s grandchildren attend the school. President Theodore Roosevelt‘s son Archibald, Richard Nixon‘s daughter Tricia, Bill Clinton‘s daughter Chelsea Clinton, and Vice President Al Gore‘s son, Albert Gore III, graduated from Sidwell Friends.
